The Spanish Government declared the state of alarm to deal with the health crisis caused by Covid-19. Among the different governmental measures, there are several measures related to procedural deadlines. Court deadlines are suspended and will start counting from the beginning once the state of alarm is over. Regarding deadlines at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, they will also be suspended. However, once the state of alarm is over, the deadline will start counting again, but not from the beginning.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has decided to extend all time limits expiring between May 1 and May 17 to May 18.
